Set your intention.

Even before you join the group, you can prepare to get the most out of your journey in the group. To start, take some time to think about your development goals. Be specific about the growth you'd like to achieve. At the simplest level, think through two items for each goal:
❶ A Success Measure
❷ A Progress Measure
The success measure defines how we determine achievement or how we will know that we have reached your goal. The progress measure defines how you'll track progress. How will you be able to detect if you're moving the needle in the right direction? What signs or markers are you observing? How frequently should you "take a probe" to see what's working? You can use this PDF to develop realistic goals you will more likely achieve - based on science and empirical evidence from hundreds of leaders like you.

Prepare for our meetings.

Our time together will fly by. Each time, we'll have a brief theme prompt to start the discussion for peer learning. To make the most out of this, come prepared to engage, not just absorb information. Here are some prompts to think through before joining our bi-weekly meetings:• What are some wins since we last met?
• What's currently not working or representing an obstacle to you?
• What's a great representative scenario that we could review for improvement?
• Or, what would help you prepare with the help of the group (tough conversation ahead, planning an approach, etc.)?
• What do you want to get better at over time? What impact will that have and why now?

Popular Leadership Coaching Topics

Often, clients ask me, "What do other leaders talk about?" Great question. The topics often repeat along the core topics of executive presence, concise communication, time management, delegation, managing up, political savvy, self-advocacy, strategic thinking, etc.Within those topics are a lot of nuances based on your unique circumstances. This document provides you with inspiration of what a coaching session can cover, although it relates to 1:1 coaching, which is not covered with the group membership plan but may give you ideas of areas to tackle.

Track Your Growth

As we coach toward our goals over the coming weeks or months, it is important that you get into a habit of regularly reflecting on your goals, the insights you gain from coaching, and the actions you commit to taking between our coaching sessions. This will help you to 🅐 keep track of what’s working and what needs additional refinement, 🅑 recognize your growth (busy times often make us forget our gains) and 🅒 increase your overall awareness to improve your decision-making and clarity.
